- Explain to stakeholders how their projects can be broken down into its valuable components for successful prioritisation
Break down User Stories by value
Learning outcomes:
- How to split Epics and User Stories along different aspects to identify the most value
- Help Product Owners choose more valuable User Stories
- Deprioritise low value work and clear out backlogs. Reduce inventory waste
Diminishing return on work
Learning outcomes:
- Explain to stakeholders how low-value work has diminishing returns and should be de-prioritised permanently (removed from the backlog)
- Clean out backlogs of work that will never get done. Reduce inventory waste
Module 3: How to measure outcomes and impacts, not outputs
Understand the key differences between outputs, outcomes and impact measures
Learning outcomes:
- Explain the 3 different categories and what they measure and how they relate to each other
- Give working examples of each category
- Explain why measuring outcomes and impacts is more valuable/meaningful
- Explain how team performance should be measured by outcomes and not outputs
Collaborate to define a new set of performance measures
Learning outcomes:
- Bring a group of people together to define what value or benefits their performance should be measured by
- Refine and decide the metrics and how they will be measured
- Gain buy-in from stakeholders to measure performance this way
